A Creative Tablescape....

It's good to be back.  Three weeks ago the unthinkable happened.  My computer CRASHED!  All my photos and files for my blog posts are locked somewhere in my computer.  The Geek Squad has had my computer and have been unable to pull up my hard drive, so I have resorted to using another computer and I am back to posting.  I have lots to share with  you.  Some exciting things have been happening which I will share with you later in the week.  Today I'm joining in on "Table Top Tuesday".  I am a nut about hiding cords.  I can't stand to see them.  So I thought I would share with you my hallway table and how I concealed the cord from the lamp which sits on top of the table.

Here's the table before I started to add the accessories...

I knew I wanted a lamp on the table. When I was selecting a table to purchase, I wanted a table with a shelf on the bottom.  This would allow me to be able to add items to the shelf  which would help to conceal the cord from the lamp.  I added these wonderful containers with the bird on the top.  First step was to try and hide the outlet.

Next was to add a couple of old books I pick up at the thrift store.  I always look for black and brown books. These will allow me to stack items on top of them.

I had a  iron container, I had picked up on vacation last year.  I added some ivy, berries and  twigs to the container and it filled the area perfectly.  Next I used a round frame and printed off the letter "B" on  some scrap booking paper.  Last I added the large bird.    Before I started to work on concealing the cord, I added some treasured items I have collected to the top of the table.  Now, it was time to try and conceal the cord from the lamp.

I covered the part of the cord that would hang down below the table with a  matching piece of wallpaper from the hallway.  That way it would blend into the wall. ( Did I mention that I hate seeing cords?)

Take a close look, the lamp is now on the table and the cord is not that noticeable.  It blends in with the wall and with all the items on the shelf you can barely see it.

Here's and even closer look..

I adjusted the decorative containers to conceal the cord even more...  I can get kinda picky at times!

Here is what I have for the tablescape....

These are one of my frames that I make.  I love the words.  What a reminder.

GIVE....THANKS...ALWAYS....

Isn't she sweet?  I added some of my favorite beaded garland.

This little candle was a gift from a dear friend who is just so thoughtful!  I love the simple word....
Blessings...

More Albums...

Last week I promised that I would share with you other photo albums that I have made.  These make wonderful gifts for many different occasions.  I posted HERE what type of album I start off with.  Once you have the album just let your creative imagination start to work.  Below are a few different albums I have made.

When my son was turning sixteen, I can't tell you how many "Sweet Sixteen Parties" he was invited to for the girls he knew.  I was looking for a unique idea while trying to be frugal.  The girls really liked them.....

This was the inside of the album.  I put the bible verse
Ephesians 2:10 inside of the album.

This album was a baby gift for a friend's daughter who just had a baby girl.  I just love making anything that is PINK!  Isn't the little poem on the front of the album so sweet?

Here's a sweet saying for the inside of the book....

This album was for a 70th birthday party....
I love the clock design and saying.  I thought it was perfect for the occasion.

The inside of the album....

When my son graduated high school we were invited to many graduation parties for his friends.  I decided to make the boys these albums to hold all their graduation pictures.

Here's the matching gift bag I made to put the album in....
Click on the photo to read the poem.

I have so many photos and I love to keep them in little treasured albums.  Next time you have a special occasion think about making a one of a kind photo album to give as a gift.  Whoever you give it to will surely know that it is a  "Creation From Your Heart".

A Pretty PINK Baby Album

Over the years I have missed the opportunity of making girly things, being that I have two sons.  When I found out my nephew  was having a baby girl I couldn't wait to begin creating some PINK girly things for my new Great Niece.  PINK Saturday is the perfect time to share my new creation with you.  Last week I shared with you the engagement photo album I made. I posted what type of photo album I purchased to make this book. You can view the informaion  HERE.  Many of you wrote to me saying that you would like to make one for a baby.  So let me share this with you...

I used a few different designs and shades of Pink ribbon . A pocket that has some buttons is used to hold the decorative tag.

I love the PINK and Green colors. What a great color combination for a sweet little baby book.  A pearl button and some rhinestones differently make this a girly book.

The ribbons that are used to tie the album shut are attached with buttons with a rhinestone in the center.  The inside of the book  was decorated with a bible verse.

This is one of my favorite bible verses.  I love to add it to any of my baby gifts.

If you love the color PINK, pop on over to Cottage Dreamer, I found the most wonderful PINK pincushion.    Now that is girly and it's PINK!

Thanks for stopping by. I am working on a few other albums I'd love for you to stop by this week to see them.  I;ll be linking this post to ...

Adding to an Already Sweet Creation....

Isn't this just the sweetest creation.....

Dawn over at the Feathered Nest has some beautiful toutorials that can be purchased. When I got these from her I decided to add something to her original design.  I love taking a Wonderful Idea and adding a bit of my own flair to it.... Have you ever done that?  If you are someone who loves to create, I think  you know exactly what I am saying.  I wanted to share with you how I took  an  unique idea, and added just a bit of embellishment to it.

I had added some crystal candlesticks to my pincushions which you can see HERE.  I liked the look and decided to add them to the fairy jars.  I added a wonderful button to just finish off the look.
Isn't she the sweetest thing.....

I would have never thought of making a Fairy Jar until I saw Dawn's tutorial on her blog.   Now with the few embellishments I have  a new look. Many of us do not come up with the original idea.  It's exciting to think of ways to take a unique and make it our own!  Thanks for visiting.  Stop by the following links to see many creative ideas.  I'll be posting this to...

Creating an Engagement Gift to Treasure....

It's amazing how a simple item can be transformed into a wonderful keepsake.  This weekend I needed to make an engagement gift.  Just by starting off with an inexpensive album that I picked up at Michaels, I was able to make a  gift that will hold treasured photos of the newly engaged couple.  This album holds one hundred and forty  4"x6" photos.  The album itself is 5"x 6.5".
Here the album ....

Now here is the finished gift.....

I embellish the album with some of my favorite gold paint and a nice BIG bow to help to keep the album shut.

The project only required 3 pieces of 12x12 scrapbook paper, some ribbon, and a few embellishments.

I used a shiny silver button and added a vintage pearl earring to the center of the button.

Here's a closer look...

This was a beautiful ribbon that had a flocked design.  I added a few tiny rhinestones for some glam.  What bride doesn't like a little bling?

The inside of the album contains on of my favorite bible verse. The tiny flowers and rhinestones just add a little sparkle.

The matching gift bag has the same bible verse as the album.  I added some silk flowers with some shed that sparkled and a rhinestone placed in the center of the flower.  It's the perfect touch to hold this little treasure.

I love to give gifts that I have created.  It's always a special treasure when it is a gift that was a
"Creation From the Heart".
