Is it a Dining Room or Craft Room?

Do you have the same problem as I do?

Have your craft projects taken over rooms in your home?

I have a wonderful dining room  fancy room that is rarely used for eating.  The problem is, because it is rarely used for it's intended purpose, it has become a workspace for all my projects in progress.
I'm going to give you a sneak peek at what the room looks like when there are no guests.  When I know someone is coming over, I run around frantically trying to put away the mess.

Here's my latest project all over the dining room table....

The problem is I never have just one project going at a time.
So there are boxes and supplies all over.

Here's the bags from my latest shopping trip with my friend Shelly, to Hobby Lobby and Michaels.

Another project....
Centerpieces for the Macomb Charitable Foundation.

Lots of pincushions for my Etsy Shop and upcoming shows.
I just need to find the time to put them together.
I tried to hide them under the buffet.

Here's an order for 80 teacup pincushions....

They are going to be shower favors.  I've been working on them during this summer.  It gave me something to do during those 57 baseball games my son played!

A few are almost complete.
I just need to add the decorative pins.

So now that you seen my secret hiding place.....

I'd love to know if I am the only one who has a dining room that is really just a craft room.

See the tiered platters on the dining room table?  I made them for a shower.  Stop by later in the week I'll  be posting about them.

In the mean time I better get going...
We're having guests this weekend,
I need to clean up the craft room dining room!

I'll be linking to the following creative sites....

Sherry you are not the only one that uses the dining room as a craft room. I have a nook kitchenette and also a formal dining room table and I plop where ever I need too, depending on how large my project is :) lol

Your pin cushions are adoreable!!

Crazy! You are a daring sole to have so much going on with all the nice furniture and carpeting. All your projects look like so much fun. I have been attempting to get all my projects rounded up and under control, in one place. My goal is to have a really great post for "Where Bloggers Create," next Spring.

You are so crafty and I just love your pin cushions! You are not the only one! My apartment is small and I wish I had a 3rd bedroom to make into a craft room/office space. In our dining area next to our table, we have a shelf. The shelf is FULL OF STUFF for crafting! I've been really good though at putting it all in pretty baskets so they hide, but when the crafting takes place, it all covers the dining table!

My living room and dining room and kitchen table are considered my "mobile" art rooms!! And I have an art studio as well! But there is always more than one project I am working on....soooo!!!! My stuff is all over! Ha! So I know how you feel. If company is coming...Oh My! What a mad dash is made to put things away. And I always hate doing that because invariably I will lose some things in the process! Sigh!
One never can win, can one?

I know what you mean about making use of the ball game time. I have a post about that very same thing this week. I love the tea cup pin cushions. I have done the whole dining room/craft room thing but it just annoys my family so I've tried to reign it in. For some reason, my family likes to have a place to eat.

Hi Sherry. You definitely are not alone in using the dining room for crafts. I just started a crazy quilt block and my dining room table is full of supplies even though I have a studio and a sewing room. I like to think of this as my craft house.

I just watched you TV show (on the sidebar) also. Wish it was showing in my area. There are hardly any 'craft' shows on anymore and that used to be all that was on - during the day while I was at work, sigh.

Have a great day! Connie

Unfortunately, Sherry, I sometimes have stuff spill over from the dining room into the living room. I have a craft table in our garage and a craft closet! My problem is that if it is out of sight, it is out of mind! I have been trying to keep things neat though lately. I really hate seeing it all over the place myself, so I can only imagine how hubby feels.
