The Bedroom Makeover is in Full Swing!

I have been missing!
Missing from the blog world.
I'm in full swing of  redecorating my master bedroom.
While trying to re decorate and run a business,
I have found I have little time to spend countless hours
 browse on the computer.

In 2009, I posted HERE about starting
 a master bedroom make over.
 That's right, 2009.
Well it's almost May of 2011 and I am finally getting things done.

So now I am going to give you little tease
of what I have been up to with the redecorating.

Here's what the doors on the armoire looked like
 before I started the project....

The armoire is Thomasville Furniture.
It's good furniture, but it is 24 years old and in need of a face lift.
 So, Remember just a peek.
 Here's the face lift...

My friend Sharon is a wonderful artist.
 I only painted the cabinet
and even with that I had to call on her help.
She did all the wonderful flowers.
I had an inspiration photo.
I wanted the flowers to look look weathered.

Just one more peek of another project in the bedroom.
Here's the fabric I chose for the draperies.
It's a wonderful toille.
The fabric also has a weathered look to it.

I'll show you part of the draperies.

Fruit of the Spirit Dish Gloves

I had a special request from a good friend for 18
of my "Fancy Smacie" Dish Gloves.

My motto is...
If you have to do housework
you may  as well look good doing it!

This was Linda's  last week for the bible study she was leading
 on "Fruit of the Spirit".
She wanted to do something special for the gals.
So why not FANCY dish gloves.
Last year I was in the study and you may recall the gloves I made.  Take a look HERE.
Linda's only  request  was that the fabric had to have fruit on it.
So off I went to find "Fruity" fabric!

Here's what I came up with...

 .
I didn't want to use the typical fruit fabric.
I wanted something bright that reminded me of spring time.

I love the PINK plaid fabric that I used for the yo-yos.
I think you know by now that PINK is my favorite color.
The fabric worked well with PINK dish gloves.
Gotta have a rhinestone for some BLING
 while doing the household chores.
So I added these MEGA teardrop rhinestones
to the center of the Yo-Yo.

I wanted to do something special for Linda,
so I decided to make matching gift bags for the gloves.

I had lots of scrap fabric
because I had to match the Fruit pattern on each glove.
I tore the fabric into strips and hot glued it to the bags.

The color combo was PERFECT !

I made a tag for each bag that had the verse from Galatians 5:22.
I added a little flower and a bit more BLING
 with another  rhinestone.

This Red and White polka dot ribbon went perfectly
and I had it in my STASH!

I had to try on a pair while doing some dusting.
It put a smile on my face.

The gloves were delivered and the last bible study was today.
Everyone seemed to enjoy their new
"Fancy Smancie" Dish Gloves.

These gloves are the perfect Mother's Day gift.
If you are interested in a pair with the matching gift bag,
 contact me.
.  The gloves and matching bag are $15.99 plus shipping.
I also have some fun styles in  my ETSY SHOP.
