Getting ready for a Fall Nesting Makeover....

It's "Fall Nesting Week" at "The Inspired Room". Autumn is approaching quickly and it's time for a makeover. Many readers are sharing their fall decor. Stop by and see all the different ideas for “Fall Nesting”. Just in time for Fall decorating, Melissa at the Inspired Room is having a wonderful giveaway . She is giving away (3) $200 HomeGoods makeover shopping sprees. Yes, (3) $200.00 shopping sprees! It’s a giveaway that would be perfect for anyone who loves to shop at HomeGoods . That's Me. HomeGoods happens to be one of my favorite stores for home décor. There are so many wonderful items for any room of your house. Do you have a room that you have been wanting to decorate? I definitely have a room that is in need of a makeover. But before I show you that dilemma, let me share with you some fall decorations. Every fall I can’t wait to decorate for the autumn season. Here are a few photos of some of my fall décor that I have put out for the past few years…
(The "Give Thanks" was a gift last year. It was from HomeGoods).
This table is in the foyer right by the front door. These pumpkins were on clearance at the end of the season last year. I just added a little bit of gold paint to dress them up. Now they are ready to greet my guests...
Every season I decorate the front porch. Nothing says "WELCOME" more than a wonderful wreath on the front door....
Now what room in my house is in need of the makeover? It's my master bedroom. Since my master bedroom is on the second floor, no one ever sees it. The main level has been completely decorated. My master bedroom has not been touched!
Here is my inspiration photo. I went on HGTV “Rate my Space”. I love the colors used in the room. It's quite a different color pallet from the rest of my home. The entire lower level of my house is done in warm tones of gold, brick red, greens and black. I was looking for a change. A retreat, a place to get away and relax at the end of the day. These colors seem so soothing.

(Isn't' it just gorgeous...) Well here is my empty canvas.... I have the same type of tray ceiling and I even think my bed is the same as the inspiration room.

As you can see I have not decided on a paint color. There are three different colors on the wall. My husband thinks I lost my mind! The paint samples were only 2.98 and I thought it was well worth the investment.

Sample #1 is the same exact color as the inspiration room. It's from Benjamin Moore, the color is #HC-108 Sandy Hook Gray. I am leaning toward Sample #2 which has a bit less gray. Not by much, is a little bit more green. It's also Benjamin Moore color #1487 Herbal escape. The toile and plaid fabric hanging are what I planning on making the drapes and bedskirt out of.

Sample #3 is also Benjamin Moore, color #1482 Sabre Gray. It's in the gray family but I think it has to much of a blue tone. I am really leaning toward #2. I would love to know what you think. Leave me a comment.

Well paint is inexpensive, so I’m starting by painting the room. I have been holding onto a wonderful toile fabric for the window treatments. There are many other items that are needed before my dream bedroom makeover is complete. The Michigan economy has been hard hit and with money being tight right now, I am on a strict budget. Thank goodness I am quite handy. I am planning on doing all the painting and sewing, so there there will be no cost for labor. Just a little sweat and some elbow grease. I love doing work and won't the finished project be just wonderful. Wouldn't it be wonderful if I was one of the lucky winners that Mellisa from the Inspired Room chooses for a shopping spree. It would be great to go to my favorite HomeGoods Store and get everything else I need to complete my bedroom retreat. What a blessing that would be! If you're interested in finding out more about the HomeGoods Makeover shopping spree stop by HERE.

Fall will be here before you know it. Take some time to decorate your home for the Autumn season.
