Precious Photos

I had to share with you these sweet photos a client asked me to use in one of my latest projects.  When visiting my house, she had seen a cloche I had made with an old photo from when I was a child.  She wanted to give her mom a Mother's Day gift with a photo of her children,  and she also wanted one for herself.  She  asked if I could create something special.
Here's the cloche I made for her....

These photos absolutely precious. .
This photo is of the two sisters with their children and grandmother.

I mounted the photo on some chip board which I covered with decorative paper.  I added some buttons,
a flower and my favorite beaded garland.

I then printed out a saying
which I thought was perfect for the photo!

Here's the cloche that she had made for her mom.....

Doesn't the white plate go perfectly with the colors of the photo?

I embellished it just like the other cloche.

I have used this saying for many of my projects.....

I actually made the cloche.  It was a vase.
I turned it upside down and glued on a candle stick for the stem.
I added a decorative ribbon, button and heart pendant.
It was an easy project that made a wonderful gift.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you have a chance to get out and enjoy the spring weather.

Is it a Bird's Nest or a Pincushion?

I recently had a request for a special order pincushion.  I always find it quite rewarding to do something out of the ordinary.
Here was the request from Shireen....  A pincushion that used a silver creamer or sugar bowl with a silver base.  She also liked grungy earthy textures and colors.  She suggested a moss velvet fabric for the pincushion.  Another request was for a nest with moss! I was up for the challenge.
Here's what I started with from the thrift store....

I purchased the sugar bowl, plate and glass candle holder all separate.  I then went on a hunt for the fabric, nest and other items to make this a "one of a kind creation".
So here's what I came up with........

I think I covered all the bases....

I embellished the pins with some wonderful buttons
from my "Stash".

Come closer...
 Can you see the detail?

I added some moss to the nest.

Recently, my girlfriend gave me a bag of vintage silverware.  This spoon was perfect for the project.  I embellished it with a button and a rhinestone for a bit of "BLING".

I used some vintage lace and added it to the brown bow
 (remember she wanted earthy colors).

A final touch was added to the bow.
A large pearl hat pin and a beautiful silver button.

I love the detail that the legs and arms of the creamer have.

It was a fun project and as I said, it was quite rewarding. I was happy with the final outcome.

Here's another one of my creations....  Last week I was blog hopping and came upon
A Stoll Thru Life.  As I visited a post HERE about a cloche party there was one of my pincushions.
How funny is that?  I had sold this on my Etsy and it was sent as a gift to Marty over at
A Stroll Thru Life

She had placed it under a cloche.  What a cleaver idea.

It's nice to get to see the things you create being displayed.  Many times when I pack the items I've sold I never know where they are going.  It was a pleasant surprise to get to see something I created
in it's new home!

I hope I've inspired you to take on a new challenge and try creating something that isn't ordinary.  You'll be surprised how enjoyable it is when you finish your one of a kind project.
Here are lots of wonderful creative places I'll be linking to.
Why not come along and visit?

An Easter Creation for a Baby....

With Easter right around the corner, I wanted to make a few items for the display at the “Tea Party Castle”.  Even though I made them with Easter in mind, this would be the sweetest gift for a baby shower or for a baby’s nursery.  Here’s my latest creation…..

I added some glitter to the bunny and perched it upon some iridescent shed. That added just a bit of twinkle.I had picked up these plates at a thrift store. There was a set of 6 plates. Originally I was going to keep them for myself. I was thinking they would be wonderful for a girlfriends luncheon, but they were perfect for this project. They have a gold rim and I just love the pink rose buds.

I searched through all my pieces of glassware and found some items that I thought would be just the right combination for the top of the cloche. I love playing with the different combinations of plates and glass items. The possibilities are endless.

I added four different glass pieces to the top of the cloche and then finished it off by adding my favorite pink beaded garland.

Two different plates were used for the top. I combined a china white plate and scalloped glass plate.

I was in a creative mood, so here’s another combination I’ll share with you …..

I used a lid from a candy dish to top this cloche off!

Since it’s Easter I figured I would add a few new tassels to our display. I made a few of each and have added some for sale at my Etsy shop. Stop by HERE.  If interested,  I will ship them out priority Mail so that they will arrive just in time for Easter!

Can you see the crystal hanging from the bottom?

I added a wonderful LARGE round crystal that just peeks out from the bottom of the tassel.

I made a bunny tassel for my dear friend Shelly.
Here's the matching gift bag I made to put the bunny tassel in.

Sticking with the baby theme,
I also created a pretty tassel for the nursery.

Lots of pretty pink ribbons, mixed in with a wonderful flocked cream ribbon.

I hope I’ve inspired you to try and create a “one of a kind gift” for the next baby shower gift you need.
