Recently I have taken up knitting.
I like doing it, but I am frustrated.
I've started about FOURprojects!
You might say that's quite ambitious,
but let me tell you why...
I am constantly making a mistake!
So when that happens,
I need to set aside the project until I can ASK bother again, someone who can undo what I have knitted incorrectly.
It is frustrating and I can't wait until the day
when I can fix my own mistakes.
Well, you ask what does this have to do with "Coasters"?
One of my "knitting friends" was having a birthday and I needed a quick gift for a get together.
Here's what I came up with...
Don't you just love the saying.
I love the site Quotegarden.com
Just search for a specific subject and they will have a saying for it.
Actually it did not say "knitting" it said needlework.
I just switch it!
I found this wonderful frame HERE at the Graphics Fairy.
I did some work on my computer and printed it off the image
on some scrapbooking paper.
on some scrapbooking paper.
I had purchased these ceramic tiles
and with a little bit of Mod Podge I had my gift.
Made a cute matching gift bag...
Since it was all about "KNITTING"
I thought I would use some fun yarn to embellish the bag.
This PINK Frame was also from the Graphics Fairy!

What a beautiful gift. I'm sure she will really love it.
ReplyDeleteOh how cute! And I can certainly empathize about the knitting issues. I tried knitting, but kept dropping stitches and couldn't figure out how to fix the problems. That's why I prefer crocheting. But the fun thing is that two of my kids are great knitters. :) Guess it skipped a generation or two - so now we're wondering if the grandchildren will be knitters or crocheters or both.
ReplyDeleteSherry~ amazing... everything is!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great PS!

ReplyDeleteI would like to invite you join my blog party "Being Creative" starting today. I hope you join in!
I just learned (Thursday) how to knit too! And I have the SAME ISSUE! How to UNDO the mess I made! But I didn't wait, I just kept moving because I knew I probably wasn't going to love the final project anyway. Now I know I hate it so I can rip it ALL out and start over!
ReplyDeleteOH! Check on YouTube, I bet there's something out there that teaches how to "unstitch" something. That's how I learned to bind off. YEA!
Good luck with yours.
What a lovely gift! Very classy looking. I'm sure she'll love it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun gift for your knitting friend! Love the quote! Thanks for linking up to Scrappy Saturdays!
ReplyDeleteKnitting is a wonderful creative outlet, I have been knitting for many years and I started just like you did. One thing I would suggest ASK someone for help, it is not a bother, they had to ask for help when they began. Go slowly, be patient, relax your hands and breathe.
ReplyDeleteAlso, You tube is a wonderful resource when you need it. Also check out Ravelry.com
Good Luck
