Welcome to the Rooster Party.....

Welcome to my house and the "Rooster Party".
Come on in.... I'm so glad you came to visit.
Most of the roosters are in the kitchen.
Just follow me.....
This glass front cabinet is located in my kitchen. I have the cutest white and black rooster placed right behind the glass.
I covered the inside of the cabinet with a wonderful wallpaper. It really made the items I was displaying POP.
Can you see the rooster on the middle shelf?
I just love the black and white polka dots....
This recipe book was a gift from my bible study that I host.
They know I love roosters!
This rooster was a great find in the clearance aisle at Michaels Crafts.
I couldn't pass it up.
Let's take a quick look at the laundry room....
I found this pair of rooster plates and I knew they would be perfect in this room. They make doing the laundry a much more enjoyable task!
Now back to the kitchen tour....
I just posted about this memo board. It was easy to make and there is a rooster right in the middle of the toile print.
Here's a closer look... This was the perfect fabric for my kitchen memo board.
I found this rooster at Pottery Barn about 5 years ago.
He has had a home in the kitchen ever since that day!
I made this rooster tassel to hang right above the memo board. A cute little rooster I painted black and just added some drapery trim and a pretty sheer ribbon and button to hang it from.
I added this large Swarovski crystal to hang from the bottom of the tassel. When the crystal catches the light from the tiny desk lamp it just glistens.
Another favorite rooster is perched on the bottom of the shelf of the bakers rack in the corner of the kitchen.
I love having this rooster on my island. I found this glass serving tray and added some ivy and berries around the rooster. Now he has the perfect spot in the kitchen.
The last rooster sits on top of the fridge. He has the best view in the house.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting today. I hope you've enjoyed the visit. I've enjoyed sharing my collection with you. Don't forget to visit Bella Vista. Grab a cold drink and your computer. There are over 199 blogs that are sharing their wonderful rooster collections. So many bloggers are Hooked on different things. As you can see I am "Hooked" on roosters. A Memo Board to Match Your Decor....

Welcome to DIY Day. I wanted to share with you a project I recently posted about. A year or so ago I saw this wonderful memo board at a local decorating store. The cost was $100.00. This was more money than I was willing to part with. I studied how it was put together and thought, "I can do that!" I found an inexpensive frame not the right finish, but I could easily change that. I love roosters , so I purchased a wonderful toile that has a rooster motif and a litlle checked fabric.
Once the frame was painted, I purchased a thin piece of plywood which I cut to the size of the opening of the frame. I covered the plywood with a thin batting and then covered the batting with the toile fabric. I made the bias tape with this little gadget which is a bias tape maker. You can purchase it at Joann Fabrics. It's easy to use and it comes out perfect every time. If you don't want to make bias tape you can use a coordinating ribbon. I added a little brass tack where the bias tape crosses over each other. It's that easy... I also made some beaded pins, using floral pins and some cute little charms.
I purchased these tiny frames at Michaels along with the ribbon to display a few family photos.
The wire edged ribbon works up to make a wonderful bow. I inserted a long floral pin through the back of the button shank and hung the frame on the memo board. These are my three favorite men! I thought these black and gold flower buttons were the perfect embellishment. This is an easy project. Just find a fabric you love and a frame and you will have a custom memo board to hold your treasures.
Don't forget to stop by HERE and see some amazing "DO IT YOURSELF PROJECTS". Have a wonderful Tuesday...
Wherever you go, go with all your heart.

Doing Laundry With My Favorite Things...

Welcome to "Hooked on Fridays". Do you love to hear the hum of the washing machine? To be honest, the wash is not my favorite things to do. The task is never ending at my house. It's seems as soon as the hampers are empty, more clothes needing to be washed magically appear.
This year my laundry room got a make over. I decided if I had to spend time doing the laundry, I wanted to be surrounded with things I love to look at. Do you love wallpaper? I do, so I covered the walls in a wonderful printed wallpaper.
Family photos are another thing I love to be surrounded with. A sweet bird that was given to me by a dear friend and a cloche I just recently completed are all perched upon cabinet.
I found a vintage photo of two women washing laundry. I placed it inside of the cloche.
I added some sweet silk flower petals adorned with buttons. Proverbs 31:13 is placed inside the cloche.
A wired ribbon, beaded garland and vintage keys were used to embellish the top of the cloche. I love tiny lamps that add a wonderful glow in the evening.... This cabinet was a clearance find at TJ Maxx. It did not originally look like this....
Below is what the original cabinet looked like. I had some paint left from my dining room and decided to use it on the cabinet. A little bit of glaze and it has a whole new look.
I've mentioned I love roosters. These are another one of my favorite items...
Another sweet little bird nestled in a nest...
I love wonderful beaded trims on lamp shades and draperies.
Vintage keys of any style are a favorite of mine. When I saw this key ring holder, I knew it was perfect for me...
The sign that hangs on the door as I enter is perfect.
"BELIEVE"
I belive that He is watches over my family, and is there with me in my laundry room even as I am folding the laundry.
Life is a bit sweeter when you are surrounded with things that make you smile. If you have a task that is not a favorite, think of items that you can bring into your space that make your heart sing...
She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
