A Mother's Day Gift "From the Heart"....

It's Mother's Day today and the sun is shining. I hope this day finds each of you enjoying the spring weather and celebrating gift of Motherhood! My boys gave me a wonderful "handmade" card with some of my scrapbooking supplies! Inside the card they each wrote a letter. This meant the world to me, because I have two teenage boys who rarely let me know what they are thinking. What a gift. We celebrated Mother's day yesterday with my mom and mother-in-law. God has blessed me with a wonderful mother and mother-in-law. We had a wonderful evening. I made my mom an apron (I'll share that with you later this week). I have been "HOOKED ON" handmade cloches so I decided you make my mother-in-law a cloche for he gift. Money is tight right now, and what mother doesn't love a hand made gift "From the Heart". So here are the supplies I started off with to create my project.....
I decided to use three photos. This one is of my mother and father-in-law and all the grandchildren.
Here's the finished project....
I added my favorite "NEW" craft item, crystal beaded garland.
This is a photo of my husband and I with my in- laws. A few years ago we surprised them and took them to Vegas for their 50th anniversary. We took them to the "Little White Chapel" on the strip and had a wedding service. This photo was taken right outside the chapel after the service. What a HOOT that was!
My brother and sister-in-law joined us on the trip... I embellished the cloche with a wired edged ribbon and a wonderful little heart that I painted with my favorite gold craft paint. I glued the salt and pepper shaker on upside down for the stem of the cloche and added a decorative button for the top. The gifts was a hit! Making a handmade gift "From the Heart" always puts a smile on someone's face. Wishing each of you a wonderful day. The moment a child is born, The mother is also born. She never existed before, The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.
