Custom Apron

PLEASE tell me I'm not the only person who has a project
sitting around for a year or so.

This project has been waiting for me to complete for over a year.
How embarrassing!
A friend requested two aprons.
One for her herself
and the other for her husband.

The requirement...
The fabric had to have an "Outdoor Theme".
She wanted them
 for her cottage.

They were FINALLY delivered
Today!!!

I added a coordinating check fabric and made my own bias tape.

My signature touch on my aprons,
a pretty flower that has a pin on the back so it can be removed.
I added a button to the center of the flower.

Some Ric Rak and bias tape was added to the pockets.

Matching dish gloves are a must for every Diva
 who has to was dishes.

A cute Yo Yo with a button in the center
finished off the look.

Now how to make a matching apron for her husband???

I used a simple chef style apron
and added some checked bias tape to match the large pocket.

Why not make some matching gloves for him also.
Maybe now he will want to help with the dishes!!!!!!

Have you ever put off doing a project
cause you were unsure what to do?

What project have you been putting off ???

It's a great feeling to have that off my work table.
Maybe now I can get to those pants the hubby wants hemmed!

Valentine Gift For the Hubby

...Happy Valentines Day..
Last night I started a gift for my sweetheart kinda late.
I wanted to make him something.
What better than a sweet treat!

His favorite candy is this...

I headed over to the grocery store
to stock up on some bite size candy bars
 and 10 large candy bars.
Luckly I had all the other supplies on hand!

First I filled the emply vase with the bite size candy bars.
23 of them.
It would have been 24,  but I also like Almond Joys
so one never made it into the vase!!!

Next step...
Cut a piece of floral foam to fit into the neck of the vase.

I used an empty soup can for the proper size.

Place the styrofoam
in the center of some mylar sheets of paper and then
push cram it into the neck of the vase.

I taped wooden sticks to the back of the candy bars
and stuck them in the styrofoam.

Next add a pretty bow.

I made a card with a saying  that had the word
"JOY"
in it!

Get it...  Almond JOY???

Now what guy wouldn't want a bouquet of candy bars????

I dropped them off at his office today.
I left before he saw me.
It was a HIT at the office.
Everyone got to enjoy his tasty gift.

Two Story Foyer

TALL spaces are sometimes hard to decorate.
Our two story foyer was a challenge.
A lot of wall space.

What to do with it?

First I added a wide chair rail molding.
I place it on the wall about 2/3 of the way up the wall.

Below the chair rail I added wall paper.
It has alot of texture.

A piece of iron work was added near the front door.

This area had me stumped!
Such a large space.
It needed something.
I ordered the tapestry on line.
  It was the PERFECT addition.

I hired my drapery installer to hang the tapestry.

Don't you just Love Tassels?

This chandelier needed some shades.

Also how about some bling????

Large crystals were added.

A ceiling medallion and a cord cover were also added.

Now time to add some furniture and accessories.

I have had this painting in a few spots in my house.
It's one of my favorites.

A dear friend  gave me this.
It hangs over my front door.

A grandfather clock chimes on the hour....

Did I mention I LOVE tassels?

If you have a tall space with a lot  of wall space,
try adding some of these elements....
